The Vietnamese delegation was led by Senior Colonel Phung Van Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command, while the Chinese side was headed by Senior Colonel Zhou Rui, Chief of Border Guards in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, China.
Accordingly, in the first half of 2019, the two sides implemented three legal documents on land border signed earlier by the Vietnamese and Chinese Governments, and minutes reached by the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee.
In addition, they promptly exchanged information relating to border security, educated people along the shared borderline to follow the two countries’ laws on border management, supervised entrance and exit control, and boosted the fight against crimes.
Meanwhile, both sides regularly organized dozens of joint patrols and talks, collaborated in seizing and returning their citizens who illegally crossed the borderline, and effectively made recommendations to local authorities to deal with emerging issues to maintain stability, security, and order along the borderline.
In the coming time, they agreed to continue implementing their signed cooperation agreements, educating people to follow the two countries’ laws on border management and entry-exit regulations, promoting the fight against cross-border crimes, and suggesting local authorities boosting bilateral cooperation, making contribution to building the shared borderline of peace, friendship, and development.
