At the meeting with Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army, and head of the Lao delegation to ACDFM-19, the two sides highly appreciated the two countries’ close comradeship, traditional relationship, solidarity, and mutual support in the struggle for national independence in the past and the current national construction.

In terms of defense ties, the two officials agreed to direct the effective implementation of existing cooperation agreements.

At the meeting with Three-Star General Maung Maung Aye, Chief of the General Staff of Myanmar’s Armed Forces, the two sides spoke highly of the traditional relations and good friendship between the two peoples and militaries over the past time.

Head delegate of Myanmar hoped to boost defense cooperation with the Vietnam People’s Army. He confirmed that Myanmar will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens and businesses to operate in the country.

Regarding the multilateral cooperation in ASEAN, both Lao and Myanmar officials affirmed that they will support and send delegations and appropriate forces to take part in activities hosted by the Vietnam People’s Army this year, such as the 23rd ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM-23), and the 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-30).
