At these meetings, the Cuban officials believed that the visit will concrete the time-honored relations between the two countries’ militaries and help translate the bilateral military cooperation as well as the partnership between military enterprises from both sides into practical results.

For his part, General Don expressed his delight at returning to Cuba this time, particularly when the two nations are celebrating the 45th year of Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s visit to the newly-liberated area in the south of Vietnam in Quang Tri province (September 1973 - 2018).

During their talks, apart from reviewing the implementation of their cooperation plan for the 2017-2019 period, the two sides discussed plans for cooperation in economics and trade between their military firms, focusing on telecommunications, textile-garment, footwear, mechanics, shipbuilding, maritime transport, logistics, construction and healthcare.

While staying in Cuba, General Don and his entourage laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument at the Hoa Binh Park in La Havana and paid tribute to President Tran Dai Quang at the Embassy of Vietnam in Cuba.

They also had meetings with leaders of Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment and Chamber of Commerce to learn about investment policies in the Latin American country and visited several MINFAR bodies.

Moreover, the two sides co-organized a trade and investment promotion conference, drawing the participation of a number of military and civilian companies from Vietnam and Cuba to help them increase mutual understanding, establish relationship and seek partnership.
