The event was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Defense Minister, and attended by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Pham Truong Son; leaders of general departments, services, agencies, and units under the Ministry of National Defense; ambassadors, chargé d'affaires, defense attachés, military attachés, and attachés of services of foreign countries in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that over the past 78 years of construction and development, the Vietnam People’s Army has made great contribution to the resistance war for national salvation and Fatherland protection cause and fulfilled international service.
The deputy defense minister said that the patriotic tradition of Vietnam has encouraged the Vietnamese troops to overcome all difficulties and challenges to fight for national independence, freedom, and reunification, contribute to the renewal process and national development, and integrate into the world.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien said that the Vietnam People's Army is willing to be a friend and a reliable partner of militaries of other countries and the international community. He affirmed that as a nation that had went through wars, the Vietnamese people in general and the Vietnamese troops in particular deeply understand the value of peace. Therefore, the Vietnam People's Army have worked with other militaries to build a world without war and without enemies and for the prosperous development of people in each country.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien hoped that ambassadors, chargé d'affaires, defense attachés, and military attachés will continue to promote their special role to foster defense cooperation relations with Vietnam and its military.
Colonel Ishihara Masanao, Japanese Defense Attaché and Deputy Head of the Foreign Military Attachés Corps in Vietnam thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for its continuous support to foreign defense attachés during their term of office in Vietnam. Colonel Ishihara Masanao congratulated the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on its successful organization of the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022.
