Vietnam, Laos cement special relationship
PANO - General Chansamon Chanyalath, Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao Defense Minister, on January 19 received a delegation of former Vietnamese military experts and volunteer soldiers who did their international service in Laos, led by Major General Huynh Dac Huong, former political commissar of the Command of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts in Laos.
General Chansamon Chanyalath expressed his delight at receiving the Vietnamese delegation on the occasion of the great historical event – the 70th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army; and affirmed that the Lao Party, State and people will never forget the great contributions and heroic sacrifices of Vietnamese military experts and volunteer soldiers for the Lao revolutionary cause.

"Each victory of the Lao People's Army in the past attached to the support and contribution of Vietnamese military experts and volunteer soldiers," he stressed.
General Chansamon Chanyalath thanked to Vietnamese military experts and volunteer soldiers for their contributions to the Lao revolutionary cause on the way to the final victories, and expressed his hope that they will continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition and educate the two countries' young generations in preserving and promoting the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Major General Huynh Dac Huong presented a map of Southern Laos Campaign recording the battles that the two militaries had won before the 1975 victory to the Lao People’s Army.
