During the reception, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc emphasized that Vietnam-India defense cooperation has been continuously expanded and deepened over the past times, obtaining practical results in various areas, such as delegation exchanges; effective maintenance of existing cooperation mechanisms; collaboration between corps and services; training; U.N. peacekeeping operations; and coordination and mutual support at international multilateral forums, among others.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Akaash Johar expressed his delight at the fruitful results of the bilateral defense cooperation in general, and the cooperation between the two countries' armies in particular. He shared with Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc the outcomes of the 4th Vietnam-India Army Staff Officer Consultation, affirming his commitment to actively coordinating with the Vietnamese side to implement agreed-upon cooperation activities, contributing to promoting the bilateral defense cooperation in a more substantive and effective manner.

Speaking highly of the results of the 4th Vietnam-India Army Staff Officer Consultation, Gen. Ngoc affirmed that there remains huge potential for the armies of the two militaries to boost their cooperation and required that in the time to come, the two armies would further enhance friendship, mutual understanding and trust, and deepen their cooperation to achieve more practical and effective outcomes. He emphasized the importance of delegation exchanges, young officer exchanges, joint training and education, U.N. peacekeeping, and military medicine, to name but a few.
