A Vietnamese high-ranking military delegation led by Major-General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, attended the Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA 2012) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The exhibition which runs from April 16-19 has attracted 850 companies from 45 countries, including the world’s leading groups such as AirBoss, General Dynamics, Brahmos, Mammo, ADS, BAE Systems, Dynamic System Technologies, Barrett Communications, Frontier, Comrod and SAAB.

Displayed on an area of 40,000 sq.m are the latest sophisticated hardware & electronic systems of land, air & sea defence, new first aid technologies and products, training & education systems related to police and security peripherals.

Russia, the US, China and Turkey showcase hundreds of defence products, ranging from airplanes, warships, armoured cars, short-range missiles, air defence systems, and ammunition to military equipment.

The event is expected to receive more than 25,000 visitors from 50 countries and more than 200 delegates from 35 countries in the world, including the UK, France, the US, Germany, China, Poland, Norway, India, Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea, and South Africa.

It provides a good chance for the Vietnamese delegation to gain a better understanding of the latest military technologies, equipment and weapons and to exchange experience in applying advanced technologies in national defence.

The Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to attend the Putrajaya Forum on Defence Security for Peace on April 17 and meet Malaysian Minister of Defence Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
