Vietnam and Laos enhance cooperation in managing borderline
PANO - Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and his Lao counterpart Saleumxay Kommasith co-chaired an online meeting to review the implementation of the pilot one-stop-shop inspection model at Lao Bao (Quang Tri) – Densavan (Savannakhet) border gates on December 29.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed that the pilot model demonstrates the political resolve of the two parties and governments to facilitate trade and travelling of the people and businesses of the two countries and other regional nations, contributing to boosting socio-economic development.

In addition, it contributes to enhancing a close relationship among staff and people of the two front-line provinces in the East-West Economic Corridor.
The two sides consented to collaborate in implementing comprehensive solutions to address difficulties and create favorable conditions for the effective operation of the model.
The same day, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu and Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith co-chaired the 31st annual Vietnam-Laos border meeting.
