During the event, General Dao said that this is the fourth time the coast guard force has joined U.N. peacekeeping mission. He emphasized that the Vietnam Coast Guard is proud to have officers become peace messengers of the Fatherland.

The commander also noted the complicated situations in Central African Republic and Abyei so that the coast guards should be well aware of their responsibility, promote solidarity, overcome difficulties to fulfill their assigned missions.

General Dao requested Major Luc Thai Ha and Senior Captain Vu Quang Khai to strictly implement Party, State, and military’s guidelines on foreign policy, observe military discipline, U.N. regulations, and the host country’s laws, while promoting good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and coast guard force during task performance.

Before taking part in U.N. peacekeeping mission, the two peacekeepers had completed their training sessions at the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations. They are all ready for the upcoming missions.

During the meeting, Major Luu Thai Ha promised that they would soon adapt to the new working environment, promote responsibility to successfully complete assigned tasks, thereby contributing to spreading the image of the peace-loving Vietnamese people.

Major Luc Thai Ha will be an information analysis advisory officer at the MINUSCA, while Senior Captain Vu Quang Khai will work as a military observer at the UNISFA.
