“Sniper Frontier” competition opened in Brest

PANO – At 15:00 on August 23 (Hanoi local time), the opening ceremony of “Sniper Frontier”, a competition of the International Army Games 2020 (Army Games 2020) took place at Brest Fortress, Brest city, Belarus.

The event was attended by Major General Volfovich Alexander Grigorievich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Vadim Denisenko, Commander of the Belarusian Special Operations Force, and Alexander Rogachuk, Mayor of Brest city.

The Vietnamese team to the “Sniper Frontier” competition

This year’s competition will see the participation of ten teams from seven countries including Belarus (three teams), Russia (two teams), Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Serbia, and Tajikistan.

The Vietnamese sniper team is highly regarded by others in this year’s event thanks to its seventh position among 21 participating teams in the 2019 competition.

The sniper teams at Army Games 2020 consist of strong and experienced competitors, and they use Dragunov sniper rifles (SVD) and Avtomat Kalashnikova (AK) assault rifles.

The competition consists of four stages, including "Individual task", "Pair task ", “Sniper Relay”, and “Sniper Pair Duel” with a total of 23 shooting exercises.

As planned, the competition will take place from August 24 to September 5.
