Sixth Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange wraps up
PANO - The Sixth Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange successfully wrapped up on the afternoon of April 24 with a series of activities in the Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh.

The activities started off with a solemn reception hosted by Vietnamese Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, head of the Vietnamese delegation to the exchange, for his Chinese counterpart Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe, head of the Chinese delegation at Hoanh Mo Border Gate (Vietnam).
After the reception, the two defense ministers joined a border landmark saluting ceremony, painted landmarks, and planted a friendship tree. They also attended the inaugural ceremony for a Vietnam - China friendship cultural house in Dong Van commune in Quang Ninh province’s Binh Lieu district, and presented gifts to the house.

The Sixth Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange was co-chaired by the defense ministers of Vietnam and China. During the one-day exchange, a number of activities took place in the Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh and the Chinese province of Guangxi.

On the morning of April 24, the delegations of the Vietnamese and Chinese Ministries of National Defense, led by Defense Ministers Phan Van Giang and Wei Fenghe, held talks in Dongxing city of Chinese province of Guangxi, during which the two sides highly valued the increasing exchanges and cooperation between the two defense ministries and the two countries’ border protection forces. These have contributed to maintaining peace and stability along the shared borderline of Vietnam and China.

In Dongxing, Generals Giang and Wei also witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on further cooperation in scientific studies between the Defense Strategy Institute under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Academy of Military Science of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
