Royal New Zealand Navy ship visits HCM City
PANO - Ship HMNZS TeMana of the Royal New Zealand Navy, captained by Lieutenant Colonel Lisa Hunn with over 178 crewmembers on board, began a four-day friendly visit to Ho Chi Minh City, starting from September 25.

The event is taking place on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-New Zealand diplomatic relations, contributing to cementing defense ties between the two countries.
Ship HMNZS TeMana is one of the two Anzac-class frigates of the Royal New Zealand Navy. The other is HMNZS TeKaha, which paid a visit to Da Nang city last year.
The HMNZSTeMana has a length of 118m, an overall beam of 14.8m, a displacement of 3,600 tons, and a maximum speed of 27 nautical miles per hour, and operates on a range of 6,000 nautical miles. It has a helicopter pad on its stern. The ship is equipped with short-range anti-aircraft missileRIM-7 Sea Sparrow, medium-range surface-to-air missileRIM-162 ESSM, Mark 46 anti-submarine warfare torpedo and a ship-based helicopterSH-2G Super Seasprite.

During their stay in Vietnam’s Southern city, the ship’s crewmembers will lay wreaths at President Ho Chi Minh Memorial, pay courtesy visits to the leadership of the city and the Military Region 7 Command, and have exchanges with officers of the Vietnam People’s Navy.
After its visit to Ho Chi Minh City, the New Zealand naval ship will head for Singapore on September 29.
