Preparation for the first Vietnam - Laos border defense friendship exchange checked
PANO - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien checked the preparation for the first-ever Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange and related activities in Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province on November 28.
At the places that the exchange and other external activities with Laos such as the Border Post of Lao Bao International Border Gate, Lao Bao International Border Gate, Lao Bao Primary School No.2 will be hosted, General Chien and his entourage commented on the protocol, logistic services, decoration, guarantee of security, safety, communication, healthcare, and disease prevention measures. They also gave conclusion on proposals made by relevant agencies and units.

General Chien applauded and highly appreciated the Ministry of National Defense’s affiliates for their active and proactive preparation for the aforementioned events. He also thanked local departments and authorities for their close collaboration.
Saying that the border defense friendship exchange is an important defense diplomacy activity that contributes to building up friendship, solidarity and building a borderline of peace, stability, cooperation and development between Vietnam and neighboring countries with the shared borderline, General Chien emphasized the importance of this first-ever exchange between Vietnam and Laos. He urged relevant agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense to continue to promote their sense of responsibility, closely team with one another and with local departments to ensure these events a success. He also noted that due attention should be paid to COVID-19 prevention and control as well.
As envisaged, the first-ever Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange and related activities will take place this December.
