The medical supplies included 5,000 N95 face masks, 100,000 antibacterial cloth face masks, 5,000 protective clothes, 500kg of chloramine B, 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, and 1,000 test kits, worth more than VND 2.7 billion in total.

Apart from the medical supplies, the Vietnamese ministry also sent four medical experts from military hospitals to assist the Lao People’s Armed Forces in COVID-19 prevention and control.
Addressing the presentation ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hung Thang, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People’s Army, hoped that the assistance from the Vietnamese MND will help the country to effectively control COVID-19, minimize the negative impacts caused by COVID-19 and prevent the disease from spreading in the Lao military.
Thang also said that the support is an expression of the special friendship and close bonds between the two nations and militaries.
For his part, Lieutenant General Khampheth Sixanonh, Head of the General Department of Logistics of the Lao People’s Armed Forces, deeply thanked the Party, State, people, and military of Vietnam for their thoughtfulness and support at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is developing complicatedly in Laos.
He stressed that with personnel and material assistance from the Vietnam People’s Army, the Lao People’s Armed Forces will bring into full play its capabilities and work with other forces to repel COVID-19.
