At the event, Gen. Binh congratulated the Ambassador, the Defense Attaché and the embassy officials and staff on the great holiday of the Lao people. He stressed that the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos are an invaluable asset and an important factor in the development of the two countries.
The Party, State, and people of Vietnam are grateful for the significant support of the Lao Party, Government, and people in their struggle for national independence and reunification in the past, and their cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new period.
Vietnam always attaches great importance to the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
According to Gen. Binh, defense cooperation has always been an important pillar in the relationship between the two countries, and promoted by the two countries' senior leaders including military leaders. On the basis of their protocol and annual cooperation plan, defense cooperation has been comprehensively developing in an intensive, practical, and effective manner, especially in defensive operations, Party, and political work, maintenance of security and order in border areas, and training activities.
These achievements have significantly contributed to strengthening and further tightening trust and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states, militaries, and people; and maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development of each country.

For his part, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang thanked the Vietnamese delegation for their visit to the Embassy for the great celebration. He also appreciated the valuable, timely, effective, and wholehearted support and assistance of the Vietnamese Party, State, military, and people for the Lao people over the past 45 years. Thanks to Vietnam’s great support, the Lao people have gained various achievements in the cause of national construction and safeguarding.
Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang stated that the Party, State, Government, military, and people of Laos are always grateful to the Vietnamese Party, State, Government, military, and people for standing side by side with the Lao people in their struggle for independence and reunification in the past as well as in their current national construction.
Despite difficulties due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam has presented medical supplies to help the Lao people prevent and combat the pandemic.
The Lao Ambassador also expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese delegation's visit, and stressed that it is a great encouragement for all officials and staff of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam to successfully complete their missions.
