Medal “For UN peacekeeping cause” presented to L2FH Rotation 2
PANO - A ceremony was held on January 22 at Bentiu, South Sudan to present the medal “For the UN peacekeeping cause” to troops of the Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 2.
The event, organized by the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), acknowledged the great efforts and contributions of the L2FH Rotation 2’s staff in particular, and Vietnam in general as an active and responsible member of the UN, contributing to peace and stability in the world.

On behalf of the UNMISS’ leadership, UNMISS Head of Field Office in Bentiu Hiroko Hirahara and Sector Unity Commander for UNMISS Major General Shamim Kamal presented the noble medals to 63 members of the L2FH Rotation 2.
Addressing the event, Mrs. Hiroko Hirahara thanked the Vietnamese government for deploying the L2FH Rotation 2 to the UN peacekeeping mission.
She affirmed that amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam’s field hospitals have played an important role in pandemic control and prevention.

For his part, Director of the L2FH Rotation 2 Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Hien, on behalf of the hospital's staff, expressed his honor to have a chance to make contributions to the solidarity and cooperation with the UN’s organs. He also underscored that with over a year of living and working in Bentiu, the staff has had memorable experiences and thanked the UNMISS, Sector Unity Commander for their support to the hospital over the past time.
