Construction of friendship
The Border Working Station project to present to Laos’ Border Company 541 is an important project and a special gift from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense (MND) to the Lao People’s Army in the framework of the first aforementioned exchange. This VND 15 billion facility was built from May to November 2023.
This is one of the facilities that the Vietnamese MND has presented to the Lao counterpart to express its willingness to stand side-by-side with the Lao People’s Army in general and the Lao border management and protection force in particular.
The operation of this facility will help improve the life of Lao troops and confirm the coordination ties between the two countries’ border management and protection forces.
Ngo Manh Hung, Director of Company 206, the project’s constructor, said that despite rainy season on Laos, the company tried their best to complete it as planned with good quality.
The Officer Commanding of Border Company 541 spoke highly of the significant gift from the Vietnamese MND. “We treasure and thank the Vietnamese MND for this gift. It is a practical facility to facilitate our activity and for the three countries’ border management and protection forces to meet and exchange information,” he said.
At the handover ceremony, Major General Siphan Phoutthavong, Director of the Laos’ Border Guard Department, highly praised the construction and expressed the hope to receive more constructions from Vietnam. He wished the two border protection forces to promote their good relationship and continue to build and defense a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
