During the meeting, the Vietnamese Deputy Chief of the General Staff emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia share a good traditional friendship. Vietnam always attaches great importance to and prioritizes the continuous consolidation and development of its good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.

General Ngoc noted that in recent times, defense cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia has continued to develop substantively and effectively, serving as one of the key pillars of their bilateral relationship. This cooperation has been particularly evident in areas such as the regular exchange of delegations at all levels, defense policy dialogues, consultations and information sharing, training and capacity building, joint management and protection of land and maritime borders, people-to-people exchanges and twinning activities, promotion of solidarity and friendship between the two countries, the search for, collection, and repatriation of the remains of fallen soldiers, as well as coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.
For his part, Lt. Gen. Chheng Khun briefed General Ngoc on the results of his working session with the Department of Operations under the General Staff. During the session, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of past cooperation and discussed directions for enhancing future collaboration. He expressed confidence that the meeting’s results would help further strengthen bilateral defense ties.
Acknowledging the outcomes of the session, the Vietnamese Deputy Chief of the General Staff highly appreciated the role of the military mapping and topographic units in both countries' armed forces in supporting training, education, and military research.
The host proposed that in the time ahead, the two agencies intensify exchanges and technical cooperation, conduct specialized training programs, and assist each other in strengthening professional capabilities and advising their respective ministries of defense in the field of military topography.

General Ngoc affirmed that the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army always supports and facilitates deeper cooperation between the two agencies, thereby contributing to stronger Vietnam–Cambodia defense relations.
