Lao officers conclude refresher course on the environment
PANO – The Department of Military Science of the Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Military Techniques Academy held a ceremony on October 11 to conclude the refresher course on the environment for a delegation from the Department of Military Science and History of the Lao Defense Ministry.

Speaking at the event, Colonel Nguyen Vu, Deputy Head of the Department of Military Science held that during the month-long course, Lao officers were provided with eight theoretical subjects on environmental protection. Particularly, several subjects included were “the State management in environment”, “Environmental impact assessment”, and “Natural resources management”.
Additionally, Lao trainees also paid fact-finding visits to the Vietnam-Russian Tropical Center, several units of the Naval Service, the Military Science and Technology Institute, and the Chemical Corps to learn more about environmental protection. The acquired knowledge and experience are expected to help Lao officers improve their environmental protection activities in the Laos People’s Army.
