At the reception for the Lao guests, Major General Dang Anh Dung, the corps’ Commander briefed the guests upon the unit’s task accomplishment as well as its experiences in implementing missions of economic development, production, and job creation in combination with national defense and security reinforcement in strategic localities in the Central Highlands. Accordingly, the unit afforested more than 41,000 hectares of rubber trees, planted over 300 hectares of coffee, and cultivated 70 hectares of rice and employed around 17,000 locals, including over 7,000 ethnic minority residents.

Furthermore, Economic Cooperation Company 385 constructed and effectively put into operation important projects in Laos, contributing to raising living standards of the Lao people in Attapeu province.

For his part, the guest recalled the time-honored relationship between the two nations, Parties, States, and armies. He appreciated the unit’s guidelines and strategies on economic development and defense and security reinforcement in border areas and its recorded achievements over the past time.

Major General Vongkham Phommakone underlined Army Corps 15’s suitable measures to deal with challenges in production and trading and raise the material and spiritual life of troops and workers. He affirmed that the remarkable results will be useful to Laos’ units in implementing tasks.
