The patrol covered the area from Markers No.499 to No.500, located in Lung Lan hamlet, Son Vi commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.

The Vietnamese patrol team was led by Major Nguyen Cong Son, Head of Son Vi Border Post, while the Chinese team was headed by Political Commissar of Napo Border Management Company He Taixing.

Both sides conduct the joint border patrol and law enforcement.

The joint patrol was carried out under the cooperation plan on border management and protection between the two countries. Officers and soldiers from both sides inspected the border area, promptly detecting and preventing illegal border crossings, smuggling, and illegal transportation of goods.

During the patrol, both sides strictly adhered to the bilateral cooperation agreement and respected each other’s territorial sovereignty. They also exchanged information on the border area’s security and order, shared experience in border management, among others.

In addition to the patrol, both forces discussed recent violations, especially illegal border crossings, and drug smuggling. Both sides affirmed their commitment to boosting dissemination work for local people so as to raise their awareness of border regulations.

At the end of the patrol, the two sides agreed to maintain close coordination, hold regular joint patrols, and ensure timely information exchange to address arising issues. This joint patrol contributed to maintaining border security and order and strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two countries’ border forces, paving the way for border protection efforts in the time to come.
