The Vietnamese working mission is led by NR4’s Deputy Chief of Staff Senior Captain Nguyen Van Ngan.

A welcoming ceremony for the mission of the Vietnam People’s Navy was held at the port under the chair of Colonel Agus Izudin, Deputy Commander of Naval Base 4 of Indonesia. The event was also attended by Vietnamese Defense Attaché to Indonesia Senior Colonel Do Xuan Quy.

During the 750 nautical mile-long voyage from Vietnam to Indonesia, Frigate 012-Ly Thai To conducted a long-distance drill at sea to raise troops’ command capacity, their coordination in combat readiness, and ability of mastering weapons and technical equipment.

At the welcoming ceremony, Colonel Agus Izudin expressed delight at receiving the mission of the Vietnam People’s Navy and wished that the Indonesia visit will leave good impression on members.

The same day, the Vietnamese mission paid a courtesy call on Mayor of Batam City and Chief of Batam Police in West Indonesia.
