Fostering coordination in conducting joint drill among Lao, Vietnamese, and Cambodian militaries
PANO - On October 4, in Laos’ Vientiane, the Lao Ministry of National Defense chaired a conference to implement the coordination plan for a joint search and rescue exercise among the armed forces of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

The event was chaired by Lao representative and attended by those from Vietnam and Cambodia.
During the meeting, the three militaries discussed and reached consensus on the schedule, exercise content, and plans for joint training. Accordingly, the joint search and rescue exercise will take place along the Nam Houm River in Naxaythong district, Vientiane, from October 4 to 15. The main components will include practicing and conducting rescue scenarios in collapsed buildings and search and rescue missions for people swept away by flooding in rivers and at sea.
Representatives from the Lao, Vietnamese, and Cambodian armed forces expressed their determination to coordinate closely to conduct effective joint training and drill close to reality. The activity aims to enhance experience sharing, improve training quality, and strengthen preparedness for natural disasters and emergencies.

The exercise also serves to further reinforce and develop the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation among the three neighboring countries of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
