Deputy Defense Minister receives KOICA leader
PANO – Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have seen a sound traditional friendship and bilateral strategic cooperative partnership develop in many fields over the years.
The statement was heard during a reception for Cho Han Deog, KOICA's Country Director in Vietnam, hosted by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister on July 22.
At the meeting, General Vinh congratulated Cho Han-Deog on his appointment as KOICA's Country Director to Vietnam. He also underscored the important role of the organization in promoting Vietnam-the RoK cooperation relations while expressing his thanks to the RoK government, relevant bodies, and businesses for providing assistance to Vietnam to boost the toxic chemicals/dioxin contamination remediation in the country.
General Vinh also affirmed that the traditional friendship and bilateral strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries are increasingly developing in many fields, including defense cooperation.
He expects that the RoK will continue to implement programs to improve Vietnam’s capacity in effectively conducting the removal of bombs and mines left behind during the war in Vietnam.
For his part, Cho Han-Deog expressed his hope that the leadership of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry would further create favorable conditions for him to fulfill his mission as KOICA's Country Director to Vietnam. He also pledged to try his best to enhance the friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese Defense Ministry and KOICA as well as Vietnam and the RoK.
