During the meeting, General Chien said over the past time, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cooperation between the two countries and militaries has been maintained and developed, contributing to successfully implementing the common concepts agreed by the two countries’ leaders and carrying out the set plans in 2020.

He also affirmed that in any circumstances, the relationship between the two militaries has always been an important pillar of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo congratulated General Chien on his new appointment as the Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister. He also agreed that amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the defense cooperation between Vietnam and China still kept developing with practical activities, especially in COVID-19 prevention and control work.
