Gen. Vinh expressed gratitude to the Party, State, and MND of Laos for sending a high-ranking delegation to attend the 80th National Day celebration and a contingent of servicemen from the Lao People’s Army to participate in the grand parade at the ceremony.
The Vietnamese defense leader confirmed that the senior leaders of the two countries always attach much importance to preserving, consolidating, and fostering the already good Vietnam - Laos relationship to make it even better.

An overview of the reception |
Noting that the bilateral defense ties having developed practically and effectively in recent times, Gen. Vinh highlighted prominent outcomes in exchange of delegations at all levels, cooperation mechanisms, coordination and mutual support during major events of each country.
Regarding future cooperation, the host suggested the two military technical sectors strengthen cooperation, further share experience, and boost ties in personnel training to meet task requirements in the new situation. He affirmed that the Vietnamese MND stays ready to send advisors to help Lao People’s Army in the fields of needs. He added that the Vietnamese MND always supports and creates favorable conditions for the two sides’ agencies and units to accelerate coordination, helping deepen the bilateral defense cooperation.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Chomphet Xaynhasuk informed the host upon the results of his working sessions with the General Departments of Defense Industry and Logistics and Technical Services under the Vietnamese MND. He emphasized that the two sides agreed on cooperation orientations in the time ahead with a focus on training, and expertise exchange.

The Lao general suggested Vietnam continue providing technical support for the Lao People’s Army, promoting exchanges of delegations and experience, thereby developing defense relations more intensively, substantively and effectively.
