Defense leader inspects activities for 9th Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange

Gen. Chien and his entourage also inspected all venues which will welcome the two Ministers of National Defense, namely Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang Primary School, the Border Post of Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park, the hall for talks between the delegations of the Ministries of National Defense of Vietnam and China at Muong Thanh Hotel.

At each stop, the defense leader drew on-site experience for related agencies and units. He highly praised their responsibility, pro-activeness in making preparations for the exchange and asked them to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities to ensure the exchange a success.

The 9th Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange will take place in Vietnam’s Lang Son province and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on April 16 and 17 under the co-chairs of the two countries’ Ministers of National Defense.

The exchange takes place right after the two-day State visit to Vietnam by Party General Secretary and State President of China Xi Jinping at the invitation of Party General Secretary To Lam and State President Luong Cuong, starting April 14, contributing to realizing the common perception of Vietnam and China’s senior leaders.

The exchange also confirms the role of the bilateral defense cooperation and the two Ministries of National Defense in enhancing the traditional friendship, comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China. It is more significant since it takes place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - 2025), and the Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange 2025.
