The event was chaired by Political Commissar of the National Defense Academy Lieutenant General Luong Dinh Hong and attended by former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Lieutenant General Le Van Han and representatives from the Department of Foreign Relations and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam.

Outstanding Lao officers receive certificates of merit at the event.

Launched four months ago, the third short-term command and staff refresher course for operational and strategic-level officers aimed to equip Lao officers with command and staff abilities to meet the new requirements of the building of the Lao People’s Army in the new period.

Particularly, the trainees studied the national liberation and defense cause of the Vietnamese people, Vietnam’s political system, Vietnam’s defense and defense relations policies, the tradition and organization of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Vietnam’s military arts. They were also provided with updated information on the national, religious, democratic issues, and human rights situation in Vietnam, situational developments in the region and the world and Vietnam’s viewpoints, the building of the whole people’s defense disposition in Vietnam, non-traditional security issues, and Vietnam’s viewpoints on dealing with sea-related issues.

During the course, the Lao officers visited historical and cultural relics of Vietnam and the Vietnam People’s Army headquarters and participated in friendship exchanges. 

At the event, the National Defense Academy handed over graduation certificates to Lao officers and presented certificates of merit to students with excellent training outcomes during the course.
