Over the week-long course, Lao trainees underwent training covering the methods of building plans, preparations, and practical exercises in rescue and relief operations. They were instructed on advising local Party committees and authorities in leading, directing, and mobilizing forces during emergencies and disasters. Additionally, the Lao trainees were briefed on the historical ties and cooperative relationship between the two parties, states, and militaries. They also visited popular historical sites in Dien Bien Phu city such as Hill A1, the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum, and the De Castries Tunnel.
