Chief of VPA’s General Staff welcomes Cambodian general
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy-Defense Minister, on September 21 received a delegation of the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia High Command, led by its Deputy-Commander, General Phoung Siphin.

At the reception, General Phan Van Giang emphasized the Vietnam and Cambodia special relationship and friendship in their national salvations, and national construction and defense causes, in which, the two countries have enjoyed a good defense cooperation, contributing to heightening the bilateral relationship in general.
In the coming time, General Giang suggested that Vietnam and Cambodia should continue to beef up their defense cooperation, particularly in fields of experience sharing, education and training, delegation exchanges at all levels and others of mutual concern.
For his part, General Phoung Siphin held that the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia High Command is assigned to build a new firing range to host the coming ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (ARRM). Thus, their visit to Vietnam this time aims to study and learn experiences of the Vietnam People’s Army in managing and running firing ranges. He thanked relevant Vietnamese units for creating favorable conditions for the delegation during their stay in Vietnam.
