Vietnam's Deputy-Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh; Defense Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman and leaders of Khanh Hoa province and the unit attended the event.

The 30,000sq.m project includes three main buildings with the most synchronized and advanced system of information technology. Once completed, the center can accommodate about 2,000 trainees and 1,000 staff who are involved in research and development, product supplies, defense and security service and business activities.

At the ground-breaking ceremony

Speaking at the ceremony, General Vinh thanked the Government, the people and the armed forces of the Republic of India, the Indian Minister of Defense and the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam for their cooperation and assistance over the past time. He also expressed his hope that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in general and the cooperation between the two militaries in particular would further develop. General Vinh acknowledged and praised the effective cooperation between the Signal Officer Training School and functional agencies under the Ministry of National Defense to complete the construction as planned.

The first phase of the center was completed and officially came into operation in April 2015. Since then, the center has successfully organized 52 training courses on information technology and English for more than 4,000 military and civilian students.
