Vietnam willing to closely cooperate with UNCTAD
PANO - “Vietnam wishes to continue receiving close cooperation from UNCTAD and the international community during the realization of its development goals,” said Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.
Minister Son made the statement at the 15th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD 15) which was held in both online and in person forms in Geneva (Switzerland) and Bridgetown (Barbados) from October 3 to 7.

Addressing the plenary session of the conference, Minister Son gave three important recommendations.
Firstly, it is necessary to promote multilateralism and international cooperation to bring the pandemic under control, improve adaptability, accelerate economic recovery process around the globe, and consolidate the foundations for enhancing the resilience to possible global shocks in the future.
Secondly, future development needs to guarantee the sustainability and inclusiveness in terms of economy, environment, and society.
Thirdly, UNCTAD should bring into full play its role in enhancing global cooperation in innovation and digitalization in order to create new driving forces for sustainable development and technology-based growth.
Also at the meeting, Minister Son emphasized that Vietnam will keep joining hands with the international community to ensure a global environment of peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
