Damen Group gives €2.5 million credit support to Song Thu Company

PANO – Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands and the Song Thu Company of Vietnamese General Department of Defence Industry signed a credit contract, worth €2.5 million, for the first phase of building new factory on April 11th.
Earlier, the group gave a €5 million credit support for the company’s project.
After that contract signing ceremony, the company laid down keels to build two FCS 5009 ships with hull numbers of YN 547240 and YN 547241. This kind of high speed ship is used to provide crew members with stable functions.
Addressing the ceremony, the group’s CEO Kommen Damen pledged to further cooperate with the Song Thu Company in the coming time.
The Song Thu Company and Damen Shipyards Group have a 10-year cooperation in ship building. Song Thu Company has built dozens of ships serving defence tasks and export, with the technological transfer by the Dutch group.
