PANO - India has announced a donation of VND 2 billion for the relief efforts in the flood affected areas.

In a letter to H.E. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh has said “I am saddened to learn of the terrible floods caused by heavy rains in Central Vietnam that have resulted in significant loss of lives and property over the last few days. I would like to express my support and sympathy for the suffering families and our solidarity with your Government in its efforts to bring relief and succor to the affected people”.

The Ambassador of India, Mr. Ranjit Rae said that this contribution was a gesture of solidarity with the people of the flood affected areas in Ha Tinh and other affected provinces in Central Vietnam.
