Ambassador to Italy and the Republic of Cyprus Cao Chinh Thien suggested the Vietnamese and Cyprus Governments soon negotiate the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on matters regarding Vietnamese laborers in the island country.

The agreement is expected to ensure legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese laborers in line with law and help them equally integrate into the host society.

The ambassador made the proposal at a meeting with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiasdes following his presentation of credentials to the leader in Nicosia on November 29.
