Vietnam is an important pillar in India’s Act East policy

At the reception hosted by President Nath Kovind, Ambassador Chau extended best wishes of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President Nguyen Phu Trong to the Indian President, affirming that Vietnam is ready to welcome his visit to the country from November 18 to 20.
He also expressed his delight to be accredited as Ambassador to India, a powerful country in South Asia with long-standing civilization and one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
Showing his happiness to present the first credentials signed by President Nguyen Phu Trong after taking office on October 23, Chau vowed to fulfill his duty of contributing to boosting the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership, tapping all potentials and meeting aspiration of leaders of the two countries.
For his part, President Kovind expressed his delight to be one of the first two state leaders to pay State visits to Vietnam after the country has had a new president and affirmed that Vietnam will always be an important pillar in India’s Act East policy.
He highly appreciated Vietnam’s achievements in politics, diplomacy, economy, socio-culture over the past time, affirming to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese ambassador to fulfill his assigned tasks, contributing to beefing up Vietnam-India ties.
The same day, Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau chaired a meeting with Indian officials, businesses, heads of social organizations, scholars, reporters and overseas Vietnamese in India who have made active contribution to strengthening traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership of the two countries.
