Vietnam, India share parliamentary expertise
PANO - On March 17, during an official visit to India, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (N.A.) of Vietnam Nguyen Duc Hai, met with Speaker of the India Lok Sabha (lower house) Om Birla.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance high-level exchanges between leaders of the two parliaments, as well as at various levels; expand bilateral cooperation in key areas, including politics, defense, security, economy, trade, investment, agriculture, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Both parties also agreed to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation, promote exchanges between specialized committees to share legislative best practices, particularly in digital transformation and leveraging technology to build digital parliaments and enhance parliamentary efficiency.
Speaker Om Birla affirmed that the Indian Lok Sabha would soon establish the India-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group. He also expressed readiness to support Vietnam in training legislative officials, invite Vietnamese parliamentary delegations to India for experience-sharing and knowledge exchange.
On the same day, the Vietnamese parliamentary delegation also visited and worked with the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
As part of the visit to India from March 14 to 19, Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai and the Vietnamese delegation paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh's statue at G20 Park in New Delhi.
