Venezuela continues to value ties with Vietnam
PANO - Venezuela has always attached much importance to developing cooperation with Vietnam in many different walks of life. Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui stressed at a press conference announcing the outcome of the 2018 Venezuelan presidential election on May 22 in Hanoi.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Uzcategui affirmed that the election results showed Venezuelan people’s absolute trust in the leadership of the incumbent President Nicolas Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution led by late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.

He also said that Venezuela would always treasure ties with Vietnam, a Southeast Asian country which plays an important role in promoting Venezuela’s economic reconstruction. The Venezuelan government always welcomes Vietnamese enterprises, he added. Prospects for economic and trade development and the Vietnam-Venezuela solidarity would promote the cooperative relations between the two countries in the future, he affirmed.
With 5.8 million supporting votes, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was re-elected for a second six-year term (2019-2025). After the re-election, President Maduro pledged to further enhance political and economic reform, and at the same time continue the social welfare policies for the needy, which were pursued by the government over the past years. The President also called on political parties to join a dialogue to seek solutions for the nation and the people’s interests.
After the victory of President Nicolas Maduro, leaders of many countries worldwide sent message of congratulations to the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution.
