The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said in its annual report 2006 that Viet Nam ’s economy will keep booming in 2007, with the projected economic growth rate of 7.6 percent despite a number of challenges.
The IMF’s Executive Directors praised Viet Nam 's impressive record of sustained high growth and rapid poverty reduction.
They said that continuing efforts to improve the economy's market orientation had made Viet Nam an attractive destination for foreign investment.
However, they emphasized that faster reforms of previously-protected industries would be essential to enable the economy to reap the full benefits from Viet Nam 's WTO accession.
