Quang Ninh is calling for investment in a huge entertainment and casino complex in the Van Don Economic Zone in the Province, the project that was recently passed by the Prime Minister.

According to estimates, the project will cost some US$3.4 billion with the cost for only construction site clearance mounting to US$585million.

The Province announced the project during the 2012 ongoing investment promotion conference held on February 24th and 25th in the Province.

At the conference, with the participation of some 900 officials and investors, the Province called for domestic and international investment in the project.

The entertainment and casino complex will be located 10 km from Van Don Airport and is considered a focused and strategic tourist project in northern Vietnam.

According to local officials, when the project has finished, it will attract a large number of international tourists to the Province with the universally-known landmark of Ha Long Bay and will become an engine to boost development of other local industries and services.

Under the plan, the Province will call for investment and mobilise its efforts and assets for the project in order that the casino could be operational by 2020.
