Hai Phong has first inland container depot
Deputy Transport Minister Nguyen Van Cong recently signed a decision on the opening of the Dinh Vu-Quang Binh Inland Container Depot (ICD) at the Dinh Vu Industrial Park in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
Covering some 26 hectares, the more than VND 400 billion (USD 17 million) project will be the first ICD in Hai Phong and one of the biggest in the northern region.
Once operational, the three-phase project will be able to handle 100,000 tons of goods and have yard capacity of 400,000-500,000 TEU per year.

The Transport Ministry has asked Quang Binh Import & Export JSC – the project’s investor - to use the depot only after the company completes necessary procedures, while ensuring safety, security and firefighting and preventing pollution.
The Vietnam Maritime Administration (Vinamarine) has been assigned to inspect the depot’s operation.
ICDs are inland customs clearance points used by importers and exporters. The combination of services they provide allow exporters and importers to save time and money.
Quang Binh Import and Export is a producer and distributor of fertilizer, chemicals, agro-aqua products, food and beverages, bonded warehouse and yard service, and import-export and import & re-export services.
