Viettel Hue is the only telecommunications unit commended among the 12 collectives recognized by the Hue Municipal People’s Committee.

During the historic floods in late October, Viettel Hue maintained uninterrupted telecommunications, ensuring “no areas without signal,” earning recognition and commendation from the municipal authorities.

At the event, Hue Municipal People’s Committee leader praised the exceptional efforts of the 12 collectives.

From October 25 to November 3, Hue city experienced record rainfall, causing widespread flooding. Thanks to the strong leadership of local authorities and the joint efforts of forces and residents, the damage was minimized, and recovery was carried out quickly to help people resume normal life.

Director of Viettel Hue Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Quang shared, “During the historic flooding, many Viettel Hue staff suffered heavy property losses, yet they stayed in the field, working around the clock to maintain network connectivity. With the efforts and resilient spirit of soldiers, Viettel Hue was recognized as the operator with the best network stability during the floods.”

During the severe flooding, along with the on-site 24/7 technical staff, additional personnel from neighboring provinces were mobilized to support Viettel Hue. As a result, Viettel’s network remained stable across 40 wards and communes of Hue city. BTS stations continued operating smoothly with 24/7 technical monitoring and sufficient fuel reserves to sustain infrastructure until floodwaters receded.

Viettel’s technicians reach deeply flooded areas to restore and maintain communications networks.

Attentively, all Viettel’s transaction offices, post offices, and supermarkets in Hue opened as free charging points for residents’ phones and devices. The company also activated roaming so users from other carriers could make emergency calls through Viettel’s network.
