At the meeting, Senior Colonel Le Viet Hai, a member of MB’s Board of Directors, gave an overview of MB Laos as well as the achievements the bank has attained throughout its 15-year journey in Laos.

He noted that MB Laos was established in 2010 with a charter capital of USD 12 million. After 15 years of development, its capital scale has increased to USD 19.95 million. MB Laos is one of the few Vietnamese commercial banks operating in Laos that recorded profits from its very early years.

In 2024 and 2025, despite numerous regional economic challenges, MB Laos has continued to maintain stable and effective business operations. Its return on equity (ROE) remains among the highest within the group of Vietnamese banks in Laos.

According to Nguyen Van Huan, Director of MB Laos, over more than 15 years of operation, MB Laos has established a solid position and reputation in the Lao market with a professional workforce, diverse and convenient products, modern digital technology, and dedicated customer service.

MB Laos is currently the only bank licensed by the Bank of the Lao PDR to offer online payment account registration using eKYC technology, along with digital services deployed for the first time in Laos’ financial and banking sector. This provides a very important advantage for MB in implementing its digital banking strategy in Laos, offering customers a modern, safe, and convenient experience.

Speaking at the meeting, General Thang commended the unity and continuous efforts of MB Laos staff and employees, who have successfully fulfilled both their unit’s responsibilities and the broader political mission of the banking sector. He emphasized that their contributions play an important role in Laos’ economic, cultural, and social development, while also strengthening the Vietnam - Laos friendship.
