Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai appraised socio-economic fruits attained by Khanh Hoa Province in 2009 during his visit to the locality last week.

He also praised efforts of the Van Phong Economic Zone in attracting investments.

After only a short time operating, the Van Phong Economic Zone has absorbed 84 projects worth US$ 15.3 billion, including large projects like Van Phong international seaport, Nam Van Phong oil chemistry and refinery complex and Van Phong power center.

However, he urged the local officials and the management board to speed up infrastructure projects in the economic zone.

During meetings with officials and visits to businesses at the economic zones, he underlined the importance of environmental preservation.
