Discovery film honors Viettel’s contributions to East Africa
PANO - The documentary “Vietnam: Connecting East Africa” will be first broadcast on the Discovery East Africa channel on December 27 and on the Discovery Southeast Asia three days later.
The information was released by Anna Pak Burdin, Discovery’s General Manager in Southeast Asia at a press conference in Hanoi on December 20.
The documentary highlights the role in telecommunications development of Vietnam’s Military Industry-Telecoms Group Viettel through its investment in infrastructure for 3G and 4G networks in East Africa.

Particularly, the film features different development stages of the telecom infrastructure development in Tanzania, as well as the Vietnamese telecom’s effort to launch mobile services in remote villages in Mozambique.
The film was made by the film crew of Discovery to honor the Vietnamese in developing high-quality telecommunications networks in several African countries, added Burdin.
