The highlight of the race is all competitions starting at midnight. The start times begin at 00:00 for the 5km and 10km categories, at 00:30am for the 42km full marathon, and at 01:15am for the 21km half marathon. To ensure safety for runners, the organizing panel mobilized more than 1,000 volunteers to guide the runners and regulate the traffic.

This year's event also saw the participation of some runners from the national team. This is a chance for them to gain experience for the upcoming major tournaments, especially the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) in 2021.

In the 42km race for men,  Trinh Quoc Luong (from Border Guard team) finished first (2 hours 31 minutes 06 seconds), and was followed by Bui The Anh - Luong’s teammate (2 hours 31 minutes 14 seconds) and Le Van Tuan (2 hours 31 minutes 42 seconds) from Binh Duong province.

“Participating in this tournament in the temperatures of around 16-17 degrees Celsius is an amazing experience,” runner Nguyen Thi Oanh said.
