Vietnamese boxer claims WBA Asia East title
PANO – Boxer Truong Dinh Hoang won the World Boxing Association Asia East Super Middleweight title in an international boxing event billed Victory 8, the Legends of Hoan Kiem in Hanoi.
He took 10 rounds to beat his rival from the Republic of Korea Gyu Hyun Lee to secure the belt. Notably, he has become the first Vietnamese fighter to win the title.

The event drew 24 Vietnamese and foreign fighters for prize money amounting to USD 100,000. Vietnamese athletes won eight of their bouts.
The Legends of Hoan Kiem is the third professional boxing competition to be held in Vietnam.
