The competition was joined by 12 teams from the three border communes of Ia Khai, Ia Krai and Ia O. The teams with two rowers each competed in a 500-meter-long rowing distance. The competition aimed to create a physical training playground for the J’rai people while contributing significantly to preserving their traditional cultural identities and to protect a border area of peace, stability and development.
During the competition, the organizers also held an art program featuring gong performances for local people.
Held for the first time by Ia Grai district, the boat race aims to preserve and promote the fine cultural features of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
