The Vinpearl Land Tourism Joint Stock Company has been allowed to hold the Miss World Vietnamese 2010 beauty pageant following a recent decision of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee.
The committee’s Chairman Vo Lam Phi on May 11 issued a decision to abrogate the establishment of a provincial organising board for the pageant replacing a six-day old decision.
The new decision says such a board is not necessary as the Vinpearl Land Tourism Joint Stock Company, which first came out with the idea of a Miss World Vietnamese in 2007 and subsequently registered copyright of the pageant’s board, is responsible for organising the event in and out the country.
The Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee pledged full assistance to the organisation of the event, particularly the final round in Nha Trang city in August.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 14 allowed the Khanh Hoa province People’s Committee in collaboration with the Vinpearl Land Tourism Joint Stock Company to hold the Miss World Vietnamese 2010 beauty pageant, scheduled for May 20-August 30.
Qualifying rounds will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia and the Republic of Korea.
The event is the second such competition after the first was held at Vinpearl Land resort, Nha Trang in 2007. Ngo Phuong Lan won the crown in the 2007 contest.
