PANO – The third culture-sports festival of the H’mong ethnic people was held in Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province, on April 27th. The festival helps preserve and relive traditional practices deeply imbued with the cultural values of the ethnic group.

Traditional costume performance

The festival featured various special cultural and sports events, including H’mong traditional costume performance, sports and folk game competitions, traditional cuisine, artistic performances, and more. Thanks to the contributions of artisans, athletes and competitors, the event was full of laughter and was a lot of fun.

At present, around 530 H’mong households of nearly 2,700 people live in Dong Hy district. They are the owners of unique cultural practices, which run the risk of extinction. The organization of the festival is in line with the H’mong expectations and contributes to the preservation of the cultural identity of the H’mong people.
